Meet the family behind Temple & Miller

Temple & Miller Artisan Chocolates is a product of the third lockdown we all experienced at the start of 2021.  Kieran, by day a professional in the hospitality industry, was playing around with ideas to combat the boredom he was experiencing as his place of work was closed.  He and his family had always been lovers of fine chocolates and were using their spare time to try out different tastes and combinations from a multitude of makers.  It was during these experiments that. Kieran decided that he would learn how to make chocolates, buying books, doing research and following online courses as a way to fill the hours.

Kieran, original hobbyist chocolatier and flavour encyclopedia.

Mandy, ‘Mumaging Director’ and lead chocolatier.

As Kieran’s hobby continued to evolve and develop, his mother, Mandy got involved.  Mandy has always been talented at baking and cooking generally, and found she loved the challenges that making chocolates presented.  The mother and son team soon realised that they excelled at making interesting, high-quality chocolates.  Mandy’s refined knowledge of pastry cooking and the patience that it requires dove-tailed with Kieran’s determination to create and share an experience of flavours for others to enjoy.

This quickly developed into a family wide business with father and husband, Gareth and Kieran’s brother Marcus getting involved with different aspects of the business, helping to take it from hobby to craft.  Since its inception, the concept has remained consistent, to create interesting flavour combinations, to challenge the expectations that one holds with chocolate, and to share the delight of luxury chocolates and decadent flavours.

Gareth, professional taste tester and  business brain.

Marcus, media whizz and the one with his hair still.

We agreed on the basics to drive our concept: the chocolates should be hand-made, hand-decorated and designed to excite the consumer and every individual tastebud.  We took over the kitchen and made our production safe by the standards of the Environmental Health Organisation.  We tested and finessed our products time and time again, with the added help and critical evaluation from friends and family (it should be said, there was never a shortage of willing taste testers!), and we developed and settled on the final recipes and decorations, to pack the most flavour and most quality into every single aspect of our chocolates.

Today, the Wilson family are delighted to be able to bring you some of the finest chocolates that this chocolate loving family can create, with our aspiration to take you on a journey of flavour with every bite.
